The purpose of this document is to give J1 staff and CDO Trainers an idea of what is expected of them according to their role under J1. Each member of staff should understand that if these duties are not performed when required or if acting in a manner that is unbefitting such as abuse of power or incompetence, their position may be subject to review or dismissal.

Additional Keep in mind that this document is an overview, for any SOPs related to a specific job, either J1 Officer or CDO Training, you should refer to separate documents, linked at the bottom, or seek further clarification from J1 Head of Staff.


Responsibilities Overview

J1 Office

The J1 office is crucial to sustaining SOCOMD by supplying it with new members. So all required tasks must be performed to the letter. Keep in mind you will be a recruit’s first impression, so you need to set the standard and act appropriately at all times, even outside of interviews.

Head of Staff

The Head of Staff is responsible for organizing and overseeing all operations related to J1, coordinating, organizing and overseeing the SOCOMD’s recruitment, application selection, interviews and induction and management of all current members. He provides direction for the department, setting standards, handing out discipline, delegating tasks to subordinate staff members, assigning duties and hiring new J1 personnel. The HOS for J1 is:

Senior Staff

The Senior Staff is responsible for assisting the HOS in all J1 operations. His main role is to keep an eye on the staff below him and ensure they are performing appropriately, reporting back to the HOS. He may also be given additional tasks such as member follow ups, disciplinary action for J1 staff or seeking potential J1 recruits. Senior Staff are also tasked with managing the member registry. J1 Senior Staff is:

Staff

The role of the staff member is to regularly check the emails for any new applications of responses, accept/deny applicant emails and follow up when needed, scheduling interview times and in general keeping in touch with successful applicants. Staff are also responsible for conducting interviews with the supervision of a HOS or SS. J1 Staff are:

CDO Training

Training is a crucial element of member induction into SOCOMD, so it must be delivered properly, professionally and in an engaging manner, if these objectives aren’t met, the information delivered may not be retained. Course content can be found in the CBTC 1 and 2 google documents/wiki pages.

Training Coordinator

The Training Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing new training courses as well as updating current modules in CBTC, Signals and Recon courses when required and appointing additional trainers. The Coordinator also may conduct training courses himself. The Training Coordinator is:

Senior Trainer

The Senior Trainer is responsible for leading CBTC, SIGS and MEDICAL for an individual or group of trainees, he schedules a time and date for training with the trainees and conducts the course, delivering the content, ensuring that all modules of training are understood. They may additionally be requested to assist the Coordinator in writing new course content. Senior Trainers are:

Assistant Trainer

The Assistant Trainer has a simple role, assisting the Senior Trainer in delivering the course. This may be done by providing training demonstrations, adding key points or otherwise setting things up with Zeus, such as spawning the Javelin box, when needed. Assistant Trainers are:

Support Trainer

The Support Trainer is responsible for leading any Support Det. related training for an individual or group of trainees. The prospective trainee(s) requests the training, then the trainer schedules a time and date for training with the trainees and conducts the course, delivering the content, ensuring that all modules of training are understood. Support Trainers are:

SOLS Training

SOLS Trainer

The SOLS Trainer is responsible for leading any SOLS related training for an individual or group of trainees. The prospective trainee(s) requests the training, then the trainer schedules a time and date for training with the trainees and conducts the course, delivering the content, ensuring that all modules of training are understood. SOLS Trainers are:
